Cranky Cafe
Cranky Cafe opened its doors at Easter this year 20011. We are situated on the corner of Ocean Drive and Marine Parade in the Merimbula NSW precinct called Fish Pen. Cranky Cafe faces east towards the Merimbula Main Beach across Ford Park.
There is a large expanse of park and facilities and several kilometres of beautiful Sapphire Coast beach to explore. We have plenty of free car parking and are only a short walk across the estuary bridge from the main street of Merimbula.
We serve the very best coffee and teas. Our coffee beans come from a wonderful Australia producer in the Mountains in South East Queensland. The coffee is not certified as organic yet but is using the very best organic practices. The results show giving a good smooth flavour with no hint of bitterness. Our barista staff are all trained and take great pride in producing the best coffees they can. We blend our own teas and make a full flavoured chai mix. All of the teas and coffee are for sale in retail packs.
We sell Wild Ryes Baking Co bread. This is one of the best bakeries on the Sapphire Coast if not the best. Their panini, authentic Turkish, ciabatta and Turkish rounds are all used in our meal preparation.
Cranky Cafe has a large selection of delicious gluten free cakes and slices as well as a healthy selection of gluten free vegetarian offerings. We have daily specials of vegetarian gluten free soup and a very popular roast vegetable salad.
We make all our own cakes, slices, biscuits and desserts. Nothing is bought in it is all made from scratch on site.
Our food style is a mix of old style cafe/bistro with contemporary influence and modern fusion styles.
Our most popular menu items are road kill chicken, creole chicken burger, Texas beef burger, roast vegetable salad, Cranky Beach Special breakfast and much more.
Our layout is relaxed and informal with plenty of outside seating to take advantage of the wonderful Sapphire Coast weather. We are a dog friendly cafe with drinking water for pooches outside.
Please see menus for current offerings. We do change the menu at least twice per month with daily specials on the black boards.
We are open from 7.30am through to 5pm during the winter months and will advise closer to summer for our night time opening hours and our exciting evening menu. We are a BYO with no corkage charge.
Next time your down the South Coast be sure to drop by and enjoy our great food and coffee and especially our friendly hospitality. Cranky Cafe at the beach
